Joel Sebastianelli

Anchor/Reporter

Joel Sebastianelli joined BCSN in March 2021 as an anchor/reporter for Sports Nightly. He’s excited to call the 419 home after nine years in the Sunshine State, where he most recently served as an award-winning storyteller and sports anchor for WJHG-TV in Panama City Beach. He covered a wide variety of memorable stories there, from national championships, state championships, and socially distanced senior nights, to the devastation and perseverance in the wake of Category 5 Hurricane Michael. A graduate of the University of Florida, he worked as a play-by-play voice for Gator softball, soccer, lacrosse, and gymnastics.

Born and raised in Rhode Island, his first job was calling races on Friday nights at nearby Seekonk Speedway in Massachusetts while in high school. In addition to BCSN, Joel can be heard as a pit reporter on race weekends with the IndyCar Radio Network.

He’s an avid fan of music (particularly the Grateful Dead) and spends much of his time outside the studio listening to shows and attempting to be less bad at golf—often both at the same time.
