The Hens haven’t dropped a series all month long. After winning the last two against Louisville, there is a chance to take another series today while improving to 16 and 10 for the month of August.
Itβs the season’s final meeting between Toledo and Louisville, and with Michael Pinata making another rehab start, he runs into little trouble in the first inning when Stephen Pascotti lines one off the wall in left that drives in a run. Pascotti would later score but those two runs are all Pinata would allow. Move the fourth Toledo down 2-1 man on for spencer Torkelson goes opposite field. It is his fifth home run as a Mud Hen giving Toledo a 3-2 lead Torkelson is going 2 for 3 on the day.
The next batter up is Daz Cameron and he pulls it down the left field line and stays fair back-to-back jacks. It was Cameron’s fifth home run of the season, Toledo with a two-run lead. Two innings later the long ball parade continues as Brendan Davis absolutely destroys that pitch off the scoreboard. Toledo adds another run in the eighth for the 6-2 victory. Pinata goes five innings with five hits but just allows those two runs and as Matt Melzek and Jim Weber explain that should be the last time we see the veteran pitcher in a Mud Hens uniform.
