I think this comes at a great time for us. It’s the end of camp and some long hard days out there and it’s an awesome opportunity for us to be able to lock in arms with our community. Which our guys do a great job of providing a little special feeling for some young kids and some less fortunate guys that don’t have this opportunity very often. Sometimes, I wonder who gets more out of it, our kids or the kids participating today?
We get to interact with the kids and just step away from football for a little bit and get a bigger picture of life. We can interact and see how they’re doing, just simple things of that nature. I think it always ends up being a great time you have fun today.
The experience goes beyond the gridiron, bonding together and building lifelong friendships with one another.
It’s like being a brother somebody they can look out to and think of in a positive nature
We can interact with them as we would anyone else because everyone here is just a normal person. Sometimes I think we get that confused in everyday life to life situations because we look at them as having a disability. When really everybody has a disability, it’s just that some are more potent than others.
Another perspective is that this is a platform that they embrace, and they do a really good job of understanding what they are in our community and that they are role models to young people all across our city. It can be difficult to get into the mind of an 18 to 22 year-old kid, but we really appreciate our team and the families for coming out and having fun with this.
After not being able to celebrate victory day for the last two years due to the pandemic, today was a win for everyone involved.
